Despite being incomplete when found, this machine has always fascinated me.
For some reason, in the dim and distant past (I've had the machine for 40 years), I decided it was a Newton Wilson model and it certainly has that look about it.
The brass driving wheel is an addition -- just to demonstrate how the machine works.
It's a super-fun movement with the top arm raising and lowering on two rods and staying parallel to the ground.
Whatever it's real origin, it a great minature machine worthy of serious research
