Again, I make no apologies for the poor condition of this historically important machine. It’s the very first Newton Wilson lock-stitch machine, later developed into the Princess of Wales.
Possibly this machine was named the Penelope, Newton Wilson’s first lock-stitch model, which was in production until 1869.
Please be aware, this is not a pristine machine. The wooden crank handle has gone astray, as has the shuttle, but we are looking at a real piece of history.
