Maggie's Old Sewing Machines

Schroder Germany

I’ve had this miniature machine for years without out knowing its true provenance. However, during a cleaning session, I removed the base and there, inscribed into the metal, was Schroder of Darmstadt.
It’s a great little machine with adjustable top feed, and don’t you just love those brass driving gears?
The construction is very strong cast iron, making feel it was certainly designed as a practical miniature rather than a toy machine.
James Weir sold the machine for a time calling it The Ladies Own
