This French Lackner machine has quite a history.
It was picked up, back in the 1880s, during a visit to Paris by James Gresham, the sewing-machine inventor and manufacturer and given to his grand-daughter.
It passed down the family and was given to me by his great-grandson after he made contact whilst he was researching his family’s history
Construction is cast iron with a simple steel strip at the base for table mounting.
