Very basic decoration (and a little rust) on this early Florence machine.
Pretty sure the leaves and lines were done by hand as I’ve never seen two looking quite the same.
The bad news is that it’s just a head. The treadle has gone walkabout over the years.
However, it’s quite easy to convert these machines to hand crank. I found this example on the Internet: https://tinyurl.com/ya9qm8nu
The Florence machine has a fascinating history – please check here: https://tinyurl.com/y9qy5oxv
But please bear in mind that Graham Forsdyke wrote that over a quarter of a century ago and the Florence Crown machine, which was then quite rare, has now been found in considerable numbers.
