Mdm Demorest was a proprietor of a fashion magazine back in the 1860s and also lent her name to this charming running-stitch machine.
The machine was made in the early 1860s, carrying patent dates from Palmer.
And it’s in wonderful, complete, condition with its rarely found screw-on table clamp and even the original box. It was a highlight of a Brimfield Antique Fair in the USA visit back in the 1980s.
